Our Story

Founded in South Louisiana in 1998 by Nick and the late Lena Dimaio, Deep South Phonographs has always been rooted in a love for history, craftsmanship, and the timeless beauty of early sound.

In 2021, we—Corey and Shirlena Comeaux—had the honor of carrying that legacy forward. As a husband-and-wife team with a deep appreciation for vintage treasures, we’ve dedicated ourselves to sourcing antique phonographs of all kinds and restoring each one with care, while preserving the character and history that make these machines so special.

Though ownership has changed hands, the connection to the nearly three decades of knowledge behind Deep South Phonographs continues.

We are especially grateful for Nick’s continued mentorship and generosity in sharing the knowledge he has gained through decades of hands-on experience. His insight remains an invaluable resource as we carry the Deep South Phonographs legacy forward.

Our mission is to recirculate these remarkable pieces of musical history into the hands of those who truly value them, as well as those discovering phonographs for the very first time. As stewards of both the craft and the Deep South Phonographs legacy, we’re honored to play a role in the renewed appreciation of these historic machines.

While balancing our careers and time with our now-grown children, we invest care, patience, and attention into every piece that passes through our hands. Through our online collection, we invite you to explore these unique treasures—each one an eye-catching conversation piece with a story worth sharing.
